Marine Court
A hard ground copper plate etching of the back of Marine Court in St Leonards, East Sussex, UK. It’s an Art Deco apartment block near the seafront and it caught my eye when I was out walking because it reminded me of an ocean liner, so I took a photo and worked from it.
I used a fine etching needle to make detailed mark making to accentuate all the linear elements of the structure, making the most of the intaglio process and being able to create marks that I wouldn’t have been able to through linocut.
This is an experimental piece which didn’t quite go to plan so I am selling it at a lower price.
Printed onto off white 100% cotton Fabriano Artistico 300gsm paper
Edition of 10
18 x 24cm
Sold unframed, prints will be backed with greyboard and wrapped in cellophane before being shipped.
