Scaffolding
A linocut print inspired by the sight of scaffolding against a building on a bright Winters day in Hove. The strong angular shadows against the building from the scaffolding poles caught my eye so I took a photograph, excited to recreate the image into a piece of art.
The RA summer exhibition 2025 theme is ‘Dialogues’ and when creating my submission for it, I used this as a narrative to really explore the visual pattern of the structure of the scaffolding, the inevitable dialogue between the poles to hold the structure together, the relationship between light and shadow, and black and white.
Printed with oil based ink on Somerset satin 250gsm paper
28 × 38cm with four deckled edges
Sold unframed, this print will be wrapped in tissue paper and shipped flat packed
I have four A/P prints available at a very special introductory price due to small printing errors that I have made whilst I troubleshoot the print (editing out small bits of ‘noise’, figuring out printing pressure, etc. which the photos show in more detail)
